Finally the rain has come! Except too much all at once!
130mm of rain in the last week is more than we have had in the last three months (36mm).
Greens have been lightly top-dressed and fertilised with an organic and microbial based product, the reason the greens were not cut Tuesday – Thursday was to avoid the sand and fertiliser being picked up by the greens mower.
All bunkers have been edged and weeded, unfortunately the 65mm of rain last night (Thursday night) has washed all of the sand off the bunker faces, it will be a mammoth task by the greens staff to have them in play for the weekend!!!
An application of Primo (growth regulator) on the fairways was completed on Sunday, this will reduce excessive growth and tighten the playing surface.
Next week’s focus will be mowing and grooming the course ready for the WE Alexander.
