What an absolute scorcher of a weekend we had last week.
Finally able to make some progress after all the short weeks due to the Christmas and new year public holidays.
Greens have held up well over the extreme weather conditions of late, thanks to all the green staff for their dedication in keeping the greens alive!!!
Fairways have responded well after renovations, thirty tonnes of gypsum pre-Christmas and two tonnes of fertiliser last week in conjunction with 18mm of rain has been beneficial to their recovery.
Selected bunkers with exposed geo cloth have been topped up with additional sand this week.
Small bunker on the RHS of the 2nd fairway has been filled in and shaped, turfing will not occur for a few weeks until the soil has settled and compacted more.
All the cut surfaces on the course have been sprayed with a growth regulator (Primo) last week, this will help reduce excessive growth and enhance the presentation the course.
Focus for next week will be filling and shaping the bunker on the RHS of the 2nd fairway 50m from the green. Spraying insecticide and wetting agent on the fairways and rough for billbug and mole cricket control. Spraying gardens, hazard stakes, bollards, etc with Glyphosphate.
